The CIPPs Annual Excellence Awards are the longest-running, independent awards in the industry. They were established to recognise the important role that payroll and pensions play in the UK economy.

Phase 3 have strived for many years to be recognised as a worthy fit for one of these prestigious accolades and this year we are beyond delighted to have scooped up 2 out of the 3 awards we were shortlisted for; making us Payroll Service Provider of the Year and our internal wellbeing initiatives have also been acknowledged through being the recipient of the CIPP Wellbeing and Employee Engagement award. What an achievement!

We knew when entering the awards that Phase 3 was a strong candidate for both awards. In the past 18 months, during the complexities of a new payroll system implementation for our bureau clients and the complexities of Furlough, our team undertook and have been awarded the CIPP Payroll assurance accreditation, as well as achieving ISO9001 for Quality and ISO27001 for Cyber Security and the Cyber Essentials accreditation – something we are extremely proud of.

The CIPP recognised the pride Phase 3 take in their services, accomplishing 99.9% accuracy in their payslips through robust business checks and processes. They were also impressed by the measures Phase 3 took to stay ahead of any updates and changes and by the strong client focus and value for money, commending Phase 3 on their onboarding process, regular meetings, and clear communications through webinars, roundtables and monthly newsletters.

Overall, the CIPP were impressed by the great initiative shown by Phase 3 Payroll Team over the past year and proved their readiness to deal with any new legislative requirements going forward.

“I feel Phase 3 are ahead of the game and anything thrown at them they will find a solution to it.” Sandra Lingwood, CIPP Assessor.

Not only was our commitment to delivering exceptional payroll services to our customers recognised but the CIPP also acknowledged our focus on our own employee health and wellbeing, commending the initiatives we have put in place to improve the general health and wellbeing of our employees.

Whilst our health and wellbeing approach had always been informal, as we started growing as a team at an exponential rate, our Director, James Proctor decided it was time to formalise our approach and polices.

Following a research exercise into what benefits would change the life of those at Phase 3, we implemented a formal process offering our employees: unlimited paid annual leave with a minimum of 33 days, monthly allowance for working from home, true flexible working, weekly yoga and meditation classes- to name just a few of the benefits our people can avail of.

The CIPP commented on our innovative benefits package based around flexibility and employee choice which enables work to be integrated into an employee’s lifestyle, not the other way round.

Our mission was to make Phase 3 a great place to work, and we are delighted for this to have been recognised by the CIPP.

“We are so proud of everything we have got through as a team over the past 18 months. It has been a challenge ensuring we are delivering exceptional services whilst also ensuring our own people are always looked after, especially through difficult and busy times. For our efforts to have been so highly commended by a professional body like the CIPP, it gives us confidence in our own innate ability to solve our customers problems and our approach to making our employees feel valued, cared for and listened to. Without a doubt, Phase 3 have got to where we are today through our integral empathetic approach and ultimately putting people at the heart of company decisions.”  James Proctor, Director of Consulting & Services.
