#WOTW: NLP – for Neuro Linguistic Programming (and coming soon, to confuse, another NLP!) is something we heard about for HR and business practice but somewhat falling out of favour very recently. NLP practitioners work in psychotherapeutic context too, but in the workplace, they act as change agents or coaches. The theory is that a person’s mental map of inputs is subconsciously formed into first a linguistic map of understandings, which in turn translates into their behaviours. Originally by modelling examples of excellence, NLP claims to be able to offer techniques to retrain your subconscious mind to achieve your goals. It is not evidence-proven.
