Phase 3 Consulting Project Managers are helping a leading University implement a number of critical business improvement initiatives. The improvements include a coherent approach to Management Information (delivered via Manager Self Service), new and robust mechanisms to ensure that statutory reporting is available for absence and holiday periods (reporting percentages for both categories were very low exposing the university to possible legal challenges) and a closer link between the information a manager and member of staff jointly share. This has led to a greater trust in the data held in Trent and lessened some of the resistance to change that new processes inevitably highlight. The improvements are being engineered as part of an upgrade from Trent 6 to iTrent with the philosophy of “Design by revolution, implement by evolution”. Using this philosophy has led to some innovative solutions and a certainty that the proposals will be available in iTrent as a large amount of testing and customer panel involvement, along with an integrated communication and training plan, is ensuring that the design is constantly tested and that changes are implemented efficiently. |
